Four UK airports have a day trip abroad for £28.00 return this November and December. The cheapest whole day is Shannon from Manchester on Sunday 13 December, £61.00 all in. Every one of the 14 airports' cheapest trips goes to Ireland.
Everyone asks the same thing. What's the cheapest day trip abroad from my airport?
So here it is, one answer per airport. We took every same-day return on our board for November and December 2026 and kept the cheapest from each. The flight is return, per person, and the whole-day figure adds the transfer, lunch and dinner. All checked on 28 October 2026.

Why it's all Ireland
All 14 cheapest trips go to Ireland. Ten go to Dublin, two to Cork, one to Shannon and one to Knock. Short flights, first thing out and last thing back, and a lot of seats on the routes.
The one thing to watch is the ground cost. Dublin comes to £38.85 for the day and Shannon £33.00, but Cork is £55.85 and Knock £65.30, mostly because getting in and about costs more. That's why Shannon from Manchester ends up the cheapest whole day even though four airports share the £28.00 fare.
A few quick ones
