How we calculate

Flight times come from airline timetable data, refreshed on a rolling daily schedule across the airports we cover.

Fares come from recent travel search data, kept for up to six hours and refreshed every four hours for the routes people look at most. Some are checked live on Google Flights, and say so.

A fare is a recent price seen for that route, not a quote. It can change or sell out before you book. Where we have no recent fare, the trip shows none.

The airport transfer into town is priced per destination, for one person, both ways.

Where a slower, cheaper way to do the transfer exists, we show it as an alternative rather than defaulting the number to it.

The day figure is on-the-ground spend for one person, for one day: the airport transfer, getting around locally, lunch, dinner and one drink.

It is set by hand for each destination as an honest average, not pulled from a live price. The flight is shown separately, never blended in. Attractions are priced separately and marked where they are free.

These are guide numbers, not a checkout. What you spend on the day will vary, sometimes by a lot.

Fares show when they were checked. Timetables are refreshed daily on a rolling basis. Day figures are set by hand and reviewed when we find one out of date.
