Site status
- Some popular routes are showing prices that were last checked over a week ago. We're changing our daily checks so every day on these routes is checked again. Fixing now
- From 2 to 14 October, some visitors on phone networks were shown the members' screen before they had used any of their free searches. Fixed on 14 October. Everyone now gets their free searches first: 3 a week without an account, 5 with a free account. Sorry if this caught you out. Fixed 3 hours ago
- Some weekend trip cards opened the founders offer instead of the trip. Fixed on 16 October. Fixed 3 hours ago
- A few day plans for Poznan and Rovaniemi included places that are closed on that day. Fixed on 16 October: closed places are now left out and we say so. Fixed 3 hours ago
- Straight in after you payJoin without an account and you are signed in the moment your payment goes through, no code to type. If you paid in another browser, one tap on the email link gets you in.
- Better first resultsTrips that fly home to a different airport or land after midnight now come after the straightforward ones, and the home page has the Sunday deals box.
- Trips straight away from Facebook and InstagramArriving from Facebook or Instagram now shows three checked day trips from your airport right away, with the weekly deals box under them.
- Next steps on every guideChristmas, London, kids and blog pages now point straight to the matching day trips, and you can get the week's cheapest trips by email from any of them.
- Easier sign-in from Facebook and InstagramOpened us from inside Facebook, Instagram or TikTok? Sign in with an email code first, no need to leave the app.
- Opening days checked in more citiesMore day plans now skip places that are shut on your trip day and swap in somewhere open.
- Opening days checked in 42 citiesDay plans in 42 cities, including Poznan, now know which days each place is open, and skip anything shut on your trip day. The rest are being checked now.
- Faster searchesSearching "Any UK airport" and other popular searches now comes back in a blink instead of a few seconds.
- Smoother scrollingPages scroll more smoothly, especially on phones, and trip photos load faster.
- Search by half termPick October, February or May half term in the date box and we search every day of the break, weekends included. It is on search, the football page and every airport page. Dates are England's, so check your school's.
- Fly home to a nearby airportSome trips are cheaper flying out from one airport and home to another close by, like out from Liverpool and home to Manchester. You will now see those across Day Trips, with where you land and a note when it is after midnight.
- Club crests on the football cardsThe football day trip cards now show both clubs' crests big on the photo, home on the left, away on the right.
- Messages work like a chatYour Messages tab now opens on the newest message, scrolls in its own box, and the typing box stays at the bottom.
- ProblemCity cards on the weekend trips page and some Christmas and event pages showed a members offer instead of a link to the trip.FixedEvery card now links straight to that city's day trips.
- ProblemA day plan could send you to a museum that is closed on the day of your trip.FixedPlaces closed that day are now left out of the plan, and we say so. We are checking the opening days of every place in every city.
- The app lands in NovemberNearly 9 in 10 of you said you want Day Trips as an app. It's coming in November, and founders get it first.
- A busier airport nearbyIf a search from your airport comes back with only a few trips, we show the nearest bigger airport with more on those dates. One tap searches from there instead.
- Smaller airports show moreSmall airports now count 5-hour days, and if yours has little on, we show the best trips from the nearest big airport too. A few routes that almost never work as a day trip are no longer suggested.
- How we'd do it, in 16 more citiesStep-by-step plans for the day are now on 138 cities, including Poznan, Lisbon, Madrid, Vienna, Warsaw and Stockholm.
- The Day Trips app is on its wayWe're building it now. Say yes to the app question and leave your email to hear the day it's out. Founders get it first.
- Weekly deals when you joinNew accounts get our weekly day trip deals email. Untick the box when you sign up if you'd rather not.
- Football day tripsEvery match you can fly to and be home from the same night, with your airport, league, club and date to pick from.
- Clearer privacy policyIt now says plainly what we keep, who helps us run the site, how long we keep it and how to delete your account.
- ProblemSome football matches opened a trip page with no flights on it.FixedEvery match now opens the full day trip, and club crests sit next to each team.
- ProblemSome people on phone data were told they had used their free searches before they had searched.FixedYour free searches are now counted per browser, so everyone gets theirs.

- More footballFixtures for over 600 leagues on trip pages and What's On. If a kick-off time isn't set yet we say so.
- More day plansHow we'd do it is now on more city pages, with more added every day.
- ProblemSome members on iPhone got signed out after a few hours.FixedYou now stay signed in.
- ProblemChoosing a free account when you ran out of searches didn't take you to sign up.FixedYou can now sign up with an email code right there, and you go straight back to your search.
