From Manchester Airport, the cheapest Christmas market day trip in 2026 is Prague on Saturday 21 November at £140.60 for the whole day, then Berlin on Friday 4 December at £144.60. The cheapest flight is Vienna on Saturday 28 November, £98.00 return.

Vienna. Saturday 28 November, Ryanair, £98.00 return. Out at 08:25, home at 21:50, landing 23:25. The ground costs are higher in Vienna, so the whole day comes to £154.30, with about 7.2 hours there. The Rathausplatz market runs from 13 November to 26 December. Vienna from Manchester on 28 November
What about Berlin?

Which gives you the longest day?
Cologne on Tuesday 22 December. Ryanair out at 06:15 and home at 22:15, landing 22:50, with about 10.6 hours in town. £133.00 for the flight and £171.65 for the day.

Brussels is dearer at £189.00 for the flight on Tuesday 8 December, £241.60 for the day. Plaisirs d'Hiver runs from 27 November to 3 January.
And the ones to skip?
Frankfurt. The cheapest day we found was Sunday 13 December at £271.00 for the flight and £310.75 for the day. It's a fine market, but you can do Berlin or Cologne for about half that.
Any tips for the day?
Go midweek if you can. Five of the nine dates here are a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and the two Saturdays are both in November before the rush.
Take a little cash in the local money for the stalls, and wear shoes you can stand in all day. You'll be on your feet from landing to boarding.
