Who are we?

Budgeting has always fascinated me, and combining it with travel was me following my heart. The joy I get from it could be classed as addictive. At times it's probably unhealthy, spending 8+ hours to save £3.29, but I can't help it. And the rush I get from other people using something we've built is the ultimate win in life.

I always saved money out of fear, never to live the best moments, because security always came before any dream. I thought travelling the world meant you had to be rolling in money, until Josh taught me to save with purpose rather than out of fear. That's when I discovered you really can travel on a low budget and still feel secure, without having to choose between the two, and BudgetBro became the answer to everything that had been holding me back.

I said yes to this because, as a backpacker myself, I could see how much difference an app like this would make, and I could see how much Josh believed in the project. Today, my biggest motivation is showing ordinary people like me that this Instagram-worthy world fits into our budget too.

Josh and Samar committed their whole savings, £40,000. They also applied for a government-backed startup loan and were approved for another £16,500. Add over a year and a half of their own work on top and it's been a significant investment for them both, one they're hoping will pay off over time.

Most websites, apps and companies in general deliver the bare minimum, and that's where BudgetBro stands out. We're crazy for perfection, and we listen. If you've got an idea, we'll take it on board.
