The flight from Manchester to Copenhagen takes about 1 hour 55 minutes, and on Wednesday 25 November 2026 you can do it as a day trip for £119.20 all in, with about 6.8 hours in the city.

Under two hours. The flight from Manchester to Copenhagen takes about 1 hour 55 minutes, and with Denmark an hour ahead, the 08:25 lands at 11:20 local time.
That's short enough for one of our extreme day trips, out in the morning and home the same night. On Wednesday 25 November the return flight is £57.00 and the whole day comes to £119.20.
How long is the flight from Manchester to Copenhagen?
About 1 hour 55 minutes on the way out. Coming home, the 21:35 from Copenhagen lands back in Manchester at 22:40, which looks like an hour on the clock because you get the hour back.
Can you do Copenhagen in a day from Manchester?
Yes. On 25 November you're in the city from about 12:05 to 18:50, around 6.8 hours once you've done the metro and the airport. See the day trip to Copenhagen from Manchester
Wednesday 2 December has the same times at £77.00 return, £139.20 all in.
What does a day in Copenhagen cost?
Here's the honest bit. The flight is cheap, but Copenhagen isn't. The trip page puts the ground cost at £62.20.
- Transport for the day, including the airport, £11.00
- Lunch, £15.20
- Dinner, £36.00
Dinner is the big one. Have a proper lunch and something lighter in the evening and you'll bring that right down.
How do you get from the airport into Copenhagen?
The metro takes about 15 minutes. A City Pass Small for 24 hours is DKK 100 and covers the airport as well as the city, so buy that and you won't need another ticket all day.

Seven hours, what fits in
More than you'd think, because the centre is small and most of the best bits are free.
- Nyhavn, the colourful harbour you've seen in every photo
- The changing of the Royal Life Guard on the square at Amalienborg Palace
- The Little Mermaid on the Langelinie waterfront
- The King's Garden
- Freetown Christiania
If you pay for one thing, the Round Tower is DKK 60 and Rosenborg Castle is DKK 150.
Sunset on 25 November is at 15:51, so with a midday landing you've got a few hours of light. Do Nyhavn and the waterfront first, then the castle or the tower, and Christiania as it gets dark.
What time do you need to leave Copenhagen?
About 18:50 for the 21:35 flight. That leaves time for the metro and the airport, including passport control. Since 2025 the EU's new entry checks can mean fingerprints and a photo on your first trip, and Denmark is part of it, so don't cut it fine.
Nyhavn first, Christiania last
With a midday landing, I'd get the metro straight in, eat, and head for Nyhavn while it's light. Follow the water up to Amalienborg and on to the Little Mermaid, back through the King's Garden, up the Round Tower for the rooftops, and finish in Christiania as it gets dark.
Denmark uses the krone, cards work almost everywhere, and the wind off the harbour in November is no joke, so bring a proper coat.
So, is it worth the money?
If you go in knowing the food costs more, yes. Under two hours each way, an easy metro and one of the best looking cities in Europe for £119.20.
