Christmas Market Day Trips from Bristol 2026: Prague, Amsterdam or Berlin?
From Bristol, Prague on Monday 23 November is the cheapest Christmas market day (£99 flights, about £127 all in, 7 hours there). Amsterdam gives the longest day at 9 hours. Fares checked 6 to 14 Oct.

Bristol has three proper Christmas market day trips this year. Here they are side by side.
Which Christmas markets can you do in a day from Bristol?
- Prague, Mon 23 Nov: £99 flights, about 7 hours there, about £127 for the whole day
- Amsterdam, Wed 9 Dec: £100 flights, about 9 hours, about £151 for the day
- Berlin, Thu 10 Dec: £170 flights, about 6.7 hours, about £217 for the day
The whole-day figure is the return flight plus our estimate for the transfer, getting about, lunch, dinner and a drink. Fares were checked between 6 and 14 October.
Prague or Amsterdam?
Prague is cheaper. easyJet out at 07:30, back at 21:45, and the day on the ground costs about £28 because food and drink are cheap. The market on Náměstí Míru opens on 20 November. The big one on Wenceslas Square doesn't open until 28 November, so you'd see that one another time.
Amsterdam gives you more. easyJet out at 06:25, landing at 08:50, and home at 21:05. Nine hours on the ground, and the Ice Village on Museumplein is open from 3 to 27 December. It costs more once you're there, but you get two extra hours. See the Amsterdam day.
Is Berlin worth the extra?
Only if Berlin's the one you want. The Gendarmenmarkt and Alexanderplatz markets open on 23 November and Jet2's flight on 10 December gives you 6.7 hours, but at £170 for flights it's the dearest by a distance.
Which would we book?
Amsterdam for the longest, easiest day. Prague if you want to go in November and spend less. Every market's dates and hours are on our Christmas markets page.
