Inti Raymi, the Inca Festival of the Sun, is reenacted every 24 June at the Sacsayhuamán fortress above Cusco. Hundreds of costumed performers stage the winter-solstice ceremony honouring the sun god Inti, in one of the largest festivals in South America.
