February Half Term Day Trips Abroad 2027
The cheapest February half term day trip abroad in 2027 is Poznan on Monday 8 February at £126.18 for one adult and one child, and the earlier half term week is around £40 cheaper than the English one.

February half term day trips abroad are cheaper than you would guess for 2027, and the week your kids are off makes a bigger difference than where you go. The cheapest we have costed is £126.18 for one adult and one child, everything in. These are priced like all our other extreme day trips, flights plus transport, food and the tickets for whatever you are taking them to.

When is February half term in 2027?
It depends where you live, and in 2027 the gap is wider than usual.
- England, mostly Monday 15 to Friday 19 February, though a minority of councils take the week before.
- Wales and Scotland, commonly Monday 8 to Friday 12 February, and Scottish councils vary a lot between themselves.
- Northern Ireland, a short break of about two days around 11 and 12 February rather than a full week.
Those are the common patterns rather than a promise. Councils and individual schools set their own, and academies and independents drift from the council calendar, so check yours before you book anything.

Which half term week is cheaper to fly?
The earlier one, and by a long way. On the 8 to 12 February week the cheapest family day on the board is £126.18. On the 13 to 21 February window, which covers the English week, the cheapest is £165.23. That is nearly £40 more for the same sort of day, before you have doubled it for a second adult and a second child.
So if you are in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, your week is the cheap one this year. If you are in England and you can get an authorised day, the week before is where the money is.

What is the cheapest family day trip in February half term?
Poznan on Monday 8 February at £126.18, which includes the Old Zoo. After that it is Dublin on Tuesday 9 February at £143.78, flying out of Glasgow and home to Edinburgh, with the Dead Zoo Lab at Collins Barracks. Then Tirana on Wednesday 10 February at £147.23 for the natural sciences museum, Katowice at £157.06 for the Silesian Planetarium and Wroclaw at £158.45 for the zoo and the Afrykarium.

And in the English half term week?
Tirana again at £165.23 on Sunday 14 February with the zoo, Dublin at £173.78 on Saturday 20 February, Faro at £176.88 on Monday 15 February, Alicante at £177.40 on Thursday 18 February with the MARQ archaeology museum, and Cork at £180.14 on Saturday 20 February with the Blackrock Castle Observatory. There were 262 costed days across 38 cities in that window when we looked.

What does it cost for a family of four?
Double it. Every figure above is for one adult and one child, which is how the board prices a family day, so two adults and two children is roughly twice that. Poznan becomes about £252, Dublin about £288 and Alicante about £355. That is still a day abroad for four people for less than most UK theme parks charge to get through the gate.
What is actually included in those prices?
The return flights, getting to and from both airports, getting around once you are there, food, and the entry tickets where the day has an attraction in it. Alicante's £177.40 breaks down as £124.00 of flights, £49.13 on the ground and £4.27 of tickets. Nothing is hidden in a footnote. We did the same exercise last year in half term day trips abroad for a family of four.

How do you make a day trip work with children?
Pick one thing and build the day round it rather than trying to see a city. Go somewhere with a zoo, an aquarium or a planetarium, because that is three hours of the day sorted and it is indoors if February does what February does. Book seats together when you book the flights, not at the airport. And check what time you land back, because a midnight arrival with a seven year old is a different proposition to a nine o'clock one.
Fares move as seats sell and half term fills up early, so check your own dates on the day trips with kids board. Founders pay £19 a year to see every date costed six months ahead.
