Connect BudgetBro to your AI assistant

Ask questions about your money and get real answers from your actual BudgetBro data. Cut wasted subscriptions, stay ahead of your bills, and log expenses just by chatting. Works with assistants like Claude.

What you can do

Talk to your assistant the way you would talk to a friend. Here are a few things to try.

Understand your spending

Ask questions in plain language and get answers from your real numbers, not generic advice.

  • How much did I spend on food last month?
  • What are my biggest spending categories this year?
  • Which country did I spend the most in?

Track and cut subscriptions

See every recurring cost with its true monthly and yearly price, then find the waste.

  • List all my subscriptions and what they cost per year.
  • Do I have any duplicate or overlapping subscriptions?
  • Which ones should I cancel to save the most?

Stay ahead of your bills

Project your balance forward against upcoming bills so nothing catches you out.

  • Will I make it to payday without overdrafting?
  • What large payments are coming in the next 30 days?
  • Can I afford a 150 dollar purchase this month?

Log expenses by chat or voice

Skip the form. Say what you spent and it records it, converting the currency for you.

  • Log 85,000 dong for a pho lunch in Vietnam.
  • Add a 12 pound taxi to my expenses.
  • I spent 40 euros on groceries today.

Keep trips on budget

Pull up any trip's live status and get advice on your pace and days remaining.

  • How is my Kampot trip tracking against budget?
  • How many days of budget do I have left?

Ready-made prompts

Not sure where to start? Pick a BudgetBro prompt in your assistant and it does the work for you.

Identify subscription leakage

Finds duplicate and likely-unused subscriptions and ranks them by yearly savings.

Mid-month check-in

Looks at upcoming payments and warns you if you are heading toward an overdraft.

Budget coach

Gives you a realistic daily allowance for the rest of the month, from your own habits.

Safe-to-spend check

Tells you whether a specific purchase is safe to make this month.

How to connect

You do this once. After that, your assistant stays connected.

1

Generate your connection

Sign in at budgetbro.app, open Settings, and under Connect to AI create a connection. Copy the config it gives you.

2

Add the connector

In your AI assistant, such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code, add a new connector called budgetbro and paste in your details.

3

Start asking

Open a new chat and try List my subscriptions or How much did I spend last month to confirm it works.

Your privacy and safety

  • Read on request only. Your assistant reads your data only when you ask a question that needs it. Nothing is synced or copied.
  • You approve sensitive actions. Cancelling a subscription or logging an expense is confirmed with you first.
  • Your details stay private. Treat your connection details like a password, and you can reset them anytime.
  • You are always in control. Disconnect at any time by removing the connector or revoking it in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be technical to use this?

Connecting it takes a few steps the first time. After that, using it is as easy as sending a message.

Can it spend my money or move funds?

No. It cannot access your bank or move money. It can read your BudgetBro data, log expenses you describe, and stop a recurring cost when you ask.

Will it change my data without asking?

No. It only records or changes something when you tell it to, and it confirms first for anything that cannot be easily undone.

What if it gets a number wrong?

Everything it reports comes from your BudgetBro data. You can open the app to check, and ask the assistant to show its working.

More coming soon

Savings goals, debt payoff plans and monthly envelope budgets are on the way, so your assistant can help with even more of your money.
