Bakken (Dyrehavsbakken)
The world's oldest amusement park, in Dyrehaven deer park. Free entry, cheaper and calmer than Tivoli, with gentle rides for small children and a cosy, old-fashioned feel.

Experimentarium
Hands-on science across three floors plus a rooftop: water tables, the Bubblearium, a construction play area. Kids can stay busy for hours without needing Danish or English.

Tivoli Gardens
Fairytale gardens, greenery and lights, with rides for all ages. Not overwhelming, and it works for a few hours even if small children skip rides. Seasonal theming (Halloween pumpkins, Christmas) and free shows for kids such as Rasmus Klump are included with entry.

Amager Strandpark
Clean sandy beach with shallow lagoon areas for children, lifeguards in season, changing rooms and showers, and lots of space even on busy days. Easy by metro.

Reffen - Copenhagen Street Food
Huge choice of world food from shipping-container stalls on the waterfront. Relaxed and family friendly, and kids can burn off energy (there's a skate area) while parents eat. Fairly priced for Copenhagen.
