Can you do a day trip to Lapland from the UK?
Yes. On normal flights two work, both on Saturdays: Manchester (easyJet out at 06:05, landing 11:20, Ryanair home at 15:55, about 1.4 hours in Rovaniemi after passport control and the bus, some of it in daylight) and London Stansted (Ryanair, landing 15:05 after dark, about 3.8 hours). Or a package day trip on a charter flight, from £599 per adult.
How much does a Lapland day trip cost?

Can I do a Lapland day trip from the north or the Midlands?
From Manchester, yes, on Saturdays. From Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham and East Midlands no normal flights go there and back in a day, but package day trips fly from most of them.
Is it dark in Lapland in December?
Mostly. In Rovaniemi the sun sets between about 13:20 and 14:00 in December. The Manchester flight lands at 11:20, before sunset; the Stansted flight lands at 15:05, after it. Santa Claus Village is lit, and Santa's Office is open until 20:00 from 30 November to 3 January.
Is this Lapland UK?
No. This page is Finnish Lapland, where Santa Claus Village is. Lapland UK is a separate Christmas attraction in Kent.

Flights: Ryanair's own fares and easyJet's on Google Flights, one adult, checked 5 Oct 2026. On the ground: our standard Rovaniemi day (airport bus, local transport, lunch and dinner), the same as every trip page. Rides are on top: reindeer from €30, huskies from €35. Santa's Office is free.
