Hey, we're Josh and Samar.
BudgetBro started in 2025, travelling through Central Asia. First thing we built was a travel budgeting app. Spent £56,500.00 on it and tbh, it hasn't paid off yet. Thought we'd get traction way sooner than we did.
Day Trips was meant to funnel people into the app. A few weeks after launch, it's turning into the main thing.
We were back in England from the start of this year, doing work trips to get BudgetBro known. Then my grandad passed at the end of March.
His wish was simple. He only wanted me renovating his house, he knew I'd do it justice (I've got a background in construction). Hadn't been touched in 30 years, so it was a full reno. Here's the finished product.
Been a heavy year. Mum's grieving, the app wasn't moving, we had to stop all our developers and I'm in personal debt with the start-up loan. Heavy weight on the shoulders.
End of August we came to Brazil. Samar hadn't seen her family in 4 years. I'm getting my residency here, and Samar's been helping with affiliates and new ideas to reach more people. Free marketing basically, as we've got no marketing budget.
All our cash is in BudgetBro, so money's the tightest it's ever been.
My one wish is to get home for Christmas with my mum, dad, sister, brother-in-law, nephews and my daughter.
