Two apps for two halves of a trip. Wanderlog is a planning-first app: map itineraries, road-trip routes, booking import and collaboration. BudgetBro is a budgeting-first app: date-locked FX, per-category budgets, recurring entries, bank import and Travel Runway. Here is the feature-by-feature breakdown.
Both have a usable free tier. Wanderlog Pro is subscription-only (around $5.99 a month or roughly $40 a year); BudgetBro is £1.99 a month or £24.99 a year.
Wanderlog budgets at a trip level as a convenience next to the planner. BudgetBro treats travel finance as the whole product, with a full web app at budgetbro.app/web (free to use) and depth Wanderlog does not attempt.

Wanderlog points its AI at planning your itinerary. BudgetBro points its AI at your money.

Four mobile companions (Mad Mike, Krazy Karen, Brazilian Bob, Decimal Danny) and a neutral BudgetBro Assistant on web. Read your spending, answer questions, log expenses by chat or voice. Optional and can be turned off.

Enter your remaining funds. BudgetBro projects your real burn rate from the last 90 days of spending and tells you how many months and days you can keep travelling. Income reduces the burn.

Daily read on whether your spending is tracking against your goals. Like a credit score but for your trip budget.
Wanderlog converts foreign expenses to your home currency, but it does not document date-locked historical rates, so an older trip's total can shift as rates move.
BudgetBro converts every expense at the rate on the date it occurred, sourced from a daily snapshot covering 166 currencies (with live fallback). Historical totals never move. Reopen Bangkok 2025 in 2027 and the numbers are what they were.
Wanderlog is the stronger tool for several real jobs.
Wanderlog builds a day-by-day itinerary on a map, optimizes road-trip routes and imports flights and hotels from your inbox. BudgetBro does not build itineraries at all.
Wanderlog splits shared costs and calculates who owes whom. BudgetBro Shared Trips track shared spend in real time, but auto-settlement is still rolling out.
If you would rather plan, collaborate and keep a rough budget in a single place, Wanderlog's all-in-one approach suits that. BudgetBro pairs well alongside it as the dedicated money layer.
Free on iPhone and Android, with no ads and no cap on trips.
