Porto in November: A Day Trip from Stansted for £47
Porto works as a November day trip. Ryanair from Stansted on Monday 23 November 2026 was £47 return on Google Flights, checked on 8 October. You land at 11:35, get about 7.5 hours in the city and are back at Stansted at 00:50. Expect highs around 17C and some rain.

November is when Porto gets its streets back. The summer crowds have gone, the port lodges are quiet and a Monday flight from Stansted costs less than a train to Manchester.
We checked one day properly. Here's how it runs.
Is Porto worth a day trip in November?
Yes, if you go in with the right day. Ryanair from Stansted on Monday 23 November leaves at 09:10 and lands at 11:35. The flight home leaves at 22:25 and lands back at Stansted at 00:50. That return was £47 on Google Flights, checked on 8 October 2026.
After passport control and the metro into town, you're in the centre at about 12:25. You need to leave again at about 19:55. That's seven and a half hours in the city, which is plenty for the old town, the river and a long lunch.
If a 00:50 landing is too late for you, there's an earlier flight home at 20:10, landing 22:35. It was £63 return that day, and it costs you about two hours in Porto.

What's the weather like in Porto in November?
Mild and changeable. The long-term averages at Porto airport (IPMA, 1991 to 2020) are a high of about 17C and a low of about 9C, with rain on about 13 days of the month. So bring a proper coat and plan one indoor stop in case it pours.
Sunrise on the 23rd is 07:32 and sunset is 17:10, so you get about five hours of daylight in the city and then the river lit up at night.
How much does a day in Porto cost?
About £81 a person for the whole day. That's the £47 flight plus about £34 on the ground: £7 for the metro to the centre and back, £10 for lunch and £17 for dinner. Ground prices were checked on 3 October 2026.
You don't need to pay for much else. The upper deck of the Dom Luís I bridge, the São Bento station hall, the Palácio de Cristal gardens, the Bolhão market and the Ribeira waterfront are all free. If you want one paid extra, the Porto Bridge Climb is about £17 and a Casa da Música guided tour is about £10.
How should you spend seven and a half hours?
Start at São Bento, it's on the way in and the tiles are best before the afternoon tour groups. Walk downhill through the old town to the Ribeira for lunch by the river.
Cross the lower deck of the bridge to Gaia if you want a port lodge, then come back over the upper deck as the light goes. Finish in the Palácio de Cristal gardens or at the Miradouro da Vitória for the view, then eat somewhere near the metro.
