The Most Hours in a City for Under £60: November Day Trips Ranked
Dublin from Stansted on Saturday 7 November gives you 14.3 hours on the ground for a £43 return, about £3 per hour. Kraków and Seville both give you 12 hours or more for around £50. All fares were checked on Google Flights on 30 September 2026.
£43 for 14.3 hours in Dublin. That's about £3 an hour. Most cheap-flight lists sort by price and stop there. A £30 flight that lands at noon and leaves at 17:00 isn't cheap, it's short. So this list goes the other way: return fares under £60, ranked by how long you actually get.
Prices are the cheapest return on Google Flights for that exact day, checked on 30 September 2026. Fares move daily, and our trip page may show a slightly different number. Hours are time on the ground, from landing to your flight home.
1. Dublin: 14.3 hours for £43
Stansted, Saturday 7 November. Land 07:55, fly home 22:10. £3 an hour. Manchester does 13 hours on Friday 20 November for £46. The Airlink Express is 30 minutes and €13 return.
2. Kraków: 12.6 hours for £51
Luton, Monday 23 November. Land 09:45, fly home 22:20. About £4 an hour. The train in is 20 minutes, and Schindler's Factory is free on Mondays.
3. Seville: 12 hours for £50
Stansted, Monday 23 November. Land 09:40, fly home 21:40. About £4 an hour, and it's Seville in November, so leave the big coat at home.
4. Vienna: 11 hours for £58
Stansted, Wednesday 4 November. Land 09:45, fly home 20:45. About £5 an hour. The S7 or CAT gets you in, and the Christmas markets start on 13 November, so this one's Vienna before the crowds.
5. Tirana: 10.8 hours for £47
Stansted, Thursday 5 November. Land 09:55, fly home 20:45. The Rinas Express bus is €4. Cheap flight, cheap day, and you'll be the only one at work on Friday who's been to Albania.
6. Madrid: 10.8 hours for £49
Stansted, Friday 20 November. Land 09:30, fly home 20:20. Metro in for €5, and the Reina Sofía, El Retiro and Plaza Mayor cost nothing.
7. Cologne: 8.3 hours for £56
Stansted, Friday 13 November. Land 09:00, fly home 17:15. The weakest on the list for time, but the S-Bahn is 15 minutes and €3, so almost none of it is wasted getting in.
The one we'd skip
Wrocław on 7 November is £45, the cheapest fare we found, but it's 6 hours on the ground. That's £7.50 an hour, more than double Dublin. Cheap fare, expensive day.
How to use this
Before you book any cheap flight, divide the fare by the hours you'll actually get. Under £5 an hour is a good day. Over £7 and you're paying for the plane, not the place. Our trip pages show the hours for every trip, so you don't have to work it out.
