Air Cambodia has added a new route between Phnom Penh and Da Nang, supporting Cambodia’s aviation expansion from the newly opened Techo International Airport and boosting travel connections across Southeast Asia.

Cambodia's national flag carrier, Air Cambodia has launched a new direct route connecting Phnom Penh (KTI) to the popular Vietnamese city of Da Nang (DAD). The service is part of a wider expansion from Cambodia’s newly opened Techo International Airport, which became the main aviation gateway for the capital in late 2025. This is good news for travellers as the existing routes from Cambodia are via Bangkok, Thailand.
The announcement was made through Air Cambodia’s Facebook page.
In September 2025, Phnom Penh’s operations moved from the former Phnom Penh International Airport to the new Techo International Airport, located south of the capital, not actually in Phnom Penh but Kandal Province. It is a 30-60 minute journey from the centre depending on traffic.
The move has allowed Cambodia to expand routes, modernise its operational facilities, and position Phnom Penh as a more competitive aviation hub in Southeast Asia.
The new airport features increased runway capacity, larger terminal facilities, and upgraded passenger services that support both domestic growth and regional connections.
Da Nang becomes one of the newest international additions to Air Cambodia’s growing network, alongside domestic services and connections into China, Japan, and other nearby markets.
Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s most visited coastal cities, known for beaches, seafood, the Marble Mountains, and easy links to Hoi An and Hue. For Cambodian travellers, this route offers a practical short-haul escape.
The new service is a positive step for travellers and for tourism on both sides of the border. It supports Cambodia’s tourism recovery, while also encouraging more Vietnamese visitors and business travellers into Phnom Penh and beyond.
With Da Nang already popular among international travellers, direct links from Cambodia are likely to make short trips and regional travel significantly easier.

Da Nang has quickly become a favourite base for digital nomads thanks to its reliable internet, strong café culture, affordable living, and long-stay accommodation options along the coast. The new direct route makes it easier for nomads already based in Vietnam to visit Cambodia, whether for visa runs, side trips, or to explore Phnom Penh and other growing remote-work destinations such as Siem Reap and Kampot. As both countries continue to attract long-term travellers and remote workers, more direct air links are likely to support a smoother movement of digital nomads across the region.
The new route starts on 15th January, 2026
Phnom Penh - Da Nang (KTI-DAD) Monday, Thursday 10:30 12:40
Phnom Penh - Da Nang (KTI-DAD) Sunday 16:50 19:00

It is worth adding, there are existing services to Da Nang from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap but they require a stop in Bangkok, Thailand.
