India replaces paper forms with e-Arrival Card from 1st April, 2026

From the 1st of April, 2026, paper arrivals will be discontinued, and the new online e-arrival card made mandatory.
India is following many other countries who have recently switched from paper forms to electronic arrival processed to streamline and speed up immigration control.
The e-arrival card must be submitted withim 72 hours before arrival.
According to a government notice, you can complete the e-arrival either on the Indian Visa Online website, or through the Su-Swagatam mobile app. We recommend completing it on the website as it is much more straight forward than the app.
